Dearest Peg:

Hi Sugar! Little late in
getting started tonight – but will do
my best to get a half way decent
letter off to you! I Love You Peg
Darling!

Haven’t had any mail for
quite some time – most of the boys
have had letters dated the 17&18th
of Jan – but my latest is the 2nd -
one of these days I’ll get a flood
of mail – sure hope it’s tomorrow! I
surely would be lost if you
weren’t so faithful in writing! I Love
You Mu Darling Wife!!
1945-02-07_Page_2 There isn’t a darn thing going
on around here – the weather doesn’t
even stay the same long enough during
the day to write about!

Guess I may as well break down
and tell you a little about where I’ve
been the last six months – We
were stationed near Winchester the
first month and then left for France
where we spent a glorious month
back in Normandy – near (Trieveiu?) – then
moved to the front by train to a
place named (Barroucoust ?) & from
there to (Arnouville?) which was the
front at the time – I was
wounded near (Graulatte?) – about
3 miles out of Metz – just a stones
throw from Thionville – I never did

have an oppertunity to see Paris or
London – was thru Paris – but that
was in an Ambulance – and was
over London – but that was in a
Transport plane – there’s a lot more
but heck I just can’t write it – never
could write a decent letter anyhow! I
Love You Hon!

Hope everything is as it
should be – things are getting down to
a matter of weeks now – gee Honey
I hope you’ll be O.K.- and that we have
a nice healthy Baby! I Love You!

Well Darling goodnight – God
Bless You Hon!

I Adore You!
Love & Kisses
Your
Hubby
Johnnie
