My Dearest Darling:

It is sure a beautiful day
here – the sun is out and it is
really warm out!  Days like these
are really scarce in England so
we’ve been taking advantage of
it – I feel do darn lonesome for
you! Am quite worried too – sure
hope you’re O.K. & that all is going
well! I Love You!

Went to a Rugby game
yesterday – a Red Cross trip – We
really had fun – I was the first
time I’d been out of the Hospital
for 3 months – and was the first
game of that sport I’d ever saw. It
was really quite the thing – they
1945-02-05_Page_2 really pound the hell out of one another – It’s
a lot rougher than football – another
added attraction was a pub (Tavern)
between the Buss and the field – so
we had a snort of beer – Pajamas
& all – what a time! I Love You
My Darling!

Dreamt of Ale last night –
it was a hell of a dream – but it
seemed so real – guess it’ll take a long
time to forget just what took place up
front!

Hope everything is O.K. for
you – imagine you’re quite busy
getting ready for the little one – wish
I were able to help – but guess
I won’t be home in time – about

a month ago I figured I’d be there
for the day – but it’s not likely anymore -
If everything goes O.K. It’ll be darn
soon after – I Love You Darling!

Our mail is certainly slow here -
That’s more than likely the cause of your
shortage – It came faster when
it went to the front & was sent
back here – everything goes to the
boys at the front – including Mail
Service – & that’s the way it should
be!

Goodnight Darling – take care
of yourself – God Bless You!

I Love You With All My Heart
Love & Kisses
Your
Johnnie
