 | England 19 Feb 45 Monday Get 4 letters today – two from you + one from Claire & Josephine – Claire really wrote a long letter – it was about ten pages - and you know how small she writes - well it was really something – a pretty nice letter – will have to answer it as soon as I can – Josephine’s was just about the size letter I always write – only she had a few other nurses write a few diddies – was kind of nice! But of course the best were your letters – I sure Love |
 | You Darling! Am always eager to get your letters – but now that things are so close to your D-Day I’m doubly eager! I hope & Pray that all goes well for you Honey! Your letters certainly sound as though all’s going well! I Love You! Am feeling fine – and really have hopes of things getting going soon – at least I hope they do - I’ll be a nervous wreck pretty soon! I Love You! Don’t know too much about the fellows in My Company – what I do know can’t be wrote anyhow! But “Chess” is still going – which is something at least – I Love You! |

 | England 17 Feb 45 Saturday My Darling Peg! Can’t quite understand why the mail is so darn slow in coming - I know you sent a letter everyday but they just aren’t getting here – I hope the Postman is treating yuo a little better! I Love You Peg Hon! AM going to a Boxing Match tonight – Billy Conn is around visiting the guys – don’t think he’s going to fight – but there’ll be a bunch of other fights that should be interesting to watch – reminds me of when I was a “Prig”! |

 | England 15 Feb 45 Thursday My Dearest Darling! Received the long awaited letter about Ole tonight – there’s quite a few things that are wrong – such as his having been Missing In Action – he never was Missing – will tell you all about it when I get home – Ruth surely is taking it courageously – that letter she wrote is a master-piece – but I guess anything like that would bring quality! Sure glad she knew he heard about the Baby – he was really a happy fellow! Got another Xmas box today – from Mr & Mrs Joe {Libiegin?} - |
 | had some candy, cigarettes and a pack of playing cards – still have a few more on the road somewhere - but as long as the Ring got here I doesn’t make too much difference how long I have to wait! I Love You My Darling! Was on a Red Cross Tour again today – we saw a Cathedral that had been started in the year 670 – most of the work was done in the 12th and 13th century – old stuff! We then had “Tea” (or Punch) and came home! I bought a little spoon for our Baby – sort of a Souvenir like- not worth anything much! I Love You! |
